Today you are three. THREE! How did we get here so fast? Every time I call you baby, you remind me that you are a "big girl" now. You are right..but you will ALWAYS be my baby girl!
I still remember, like it was yesterday, the day you were born. (I know every mom says that, but it's so true!) You were born on a Thursday evening at 5pm. I was so excited to meet you, and hold you and kiss you. When they brought you to me for the first time, I thought you looked just like your papi, so beautifully tan and dark haired.
You are even more beautiful today than you were on that first day. But your beauty doesn't even begin to describe who you are.
You are funny! You make me laugh every day. You like to tease me and always know when I'm teasing you. You look at me sideways with little squinted eyes and say "You're teasing me mama!" and I can't help but laugh and confess.
You are so incredibly smart. You talk so much and with such a broad vocabulary that most people don't believe you are really so young. This year you learned many new words and surprised me often with your use of them... like one night when you told me you were "sprouting" and another night when you said you were so "confident"! You have also started learning how to write your letters. You can now write all the letters in your name. The letter "A" was a challenge for you at first but now you write it everywhere with skill and pride! You also understand most spanish and speak a little too. It makes me so proud to think you will know two languages when you grow up.
You are creative! You love to play and pretend that you are a baby doggie or baby kitty. This halloween you even dressed up like a doggie! You also like to pretend that you are the mommy and I am the baby. This is one of our favorite games! And you are a great mommy already, so nurturing and sweet.
You love all animals. Whenever we see a dog, you ask nicely if you can pet it. You are so gentle with them and you really want to have your own dog. Maybe some day! :-)You love to dance, and sing, and jump. You also love to ride your tricycle, which you just learned how to do about a month ago.
You love God. Every time you get a boo boo you ask me to pray about it. We pray a lot! You know how much God loves you and that is the most important thing to always remember!
Belli, It is a JOY to be your mommy. Every day it seems you learn something new and I love to watch you grow and change. Sometimes we have hard days, when you are testing the limits and I am trying to figure out the best way to teach and help you. Mommy makes lots of mistakes but I know you know how much I love you! I am proud of the way you have your own desires and personality. I am proud that sometimes you question me. You have made me a better person. Seeing things through your eyes has opened up a whole new world for me.
I thank God for you every day, baby girl. You are the most precious gift He has ever given me and I love you with my whole heart. I can't wait to watch you grow more and more. Te quiero mucho mi princesa! Happy birthday!!!
